April's Fool...in January

Call me strange, but I took this picture of a bird's nest on the ground... So, what's strange about that you might ask? Actually, this is a nest I made from Spanish moss and the potato vine seed pods so plagueing Florida (foreign import that suffocates everything green.) You know now how the vine got its name... I have an abundant supply of potato-look-alike seed pods in my yard, and I had to create something with them. The birds ARE starting to nest about now, but I don't think they would approve. Those seed pods are mighty hard!

Potatoe vine is invasive? It's an annual up here in the North. It makes a great basket filler. The seed pods are lovely, and make great eggs in your pretty nest!
