A little of this, a little of that....

I've been doing a lot of art journaling in the last couple of months.  The style is all over the place, but as I try new techniques, I get inspiration for paintings.  Here are a few pictures:

The one above has a fold-out page, which adds more space for the subject

This spread inspired the acrylic painting below: "Golden Bird."

Nature's Bounty... painting/collage

This is a commission I just finished, and the lady is very happy with it.  Yay!  Commissions are not easy because you tread a fine line between what you want to paint, and what they want.  But, all you can do is your best and hope they like it.  It's always a challenge, and as far as I know, challenges are good! :)

Nature's Bounty:

Then there's the real nature's bounty, a frangipani I snapped in the back yard.  So pretty!

Enjoying the summer and her bounty of flowers and other gorgeous expressions....

Spider alert!

I don't mind spiders at all, and here in FL we have lots and lots, small, medium and large. Then there is the extra large. Here a picture of the lovely Banana spider, which is 2 inches from back toe to front toe. It's harmless and weaves the most beautiful shimmering, layers and cone shaped webs that are really strong.

According to Native American legend, the spider is the "story teller" so if a spider shows up in your life, maybe it's time to tell some stories, or write them down!? Mother Nature is the most incredible artist, isn't she? The very best!
